FAQs

How do I know which class is best for my dancer?

You should always feel welcome to check with our staff to determine your dancer’s placement. Our Progressions Program is designed for our young and beginning dancers. Our Elite Level Program is focused on helping dancers reach their full potential, and Team SDA is a competitive dance ensemble that interested dancers can audition to be a part of.

How much do dance classes cost?

Our cost per class varies based on the program and number of classes your dancer is enrolled in. Progressions Program classes are $75 for the first class, and $45 for each additional class. Elite Level Program classes start at $90 for the first class, and are an additional $45 per class. Our program runs from the end of August to the end of May (36 weeks total), and tuition for classes is paid monthly.

What if I have to miss my dance class?

Make-up classes are available when a dancer has to miss his/her scheduled class. The office staff can assist when it is necessary to schedule a make-up class. Make-up classes should be scheduled within thirty days of the missed class. Unfortunately, tuition cannot be pro-rated for missed classes.

What performance opportunities do you offer?

We have many different opportunities for dancers to perform. All students are encouraged to participate in our annual recital. This is a chance for our SDA dancers to show the skills they’ve been working hard on throughout the year. Our Elite Level and Team SDA dancers have additional performance options. For our dancers that love classical ballet, we encourage participation in the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet. And, our tap, jazz, and contemporary dancers have multiple occasions to represent SDA at various competitions throughout the region.
